The School of Business has welcomed a new economics specialist to its faculty. Meet new 海外吃瓜 associate professor of business, Arthur Frazier!
Professor Frazier is a big fan of a small community. His previous teaching appointments at Bryant and Stratton College, Ursuline College, Cleveland State University, John Carroll University and Cuyahoga Community College all brought him closer to the intimacy that folks experience at 海外吃瓜. 鈥淚 love the liberal arts college feel that 海外吃瓜 has,鈥 he explained. 鈥淚鈥檝e loved interacting with students, fellow faculty members and the staff of 海外吃瓜 between classes.鈥
Professor Frazier currently serves as a professor of business to 海外吃瓜 students, but his expertise is wide and varied. Over the past 20 years, Arthur has taught courses ranging from marketing and sales principles to political science and pre-law. His bread-and-butter, of course, is micro and macroeconomics. Here at the 鈥橞erg, he鈥檚 teaching microeconomics, macroeconomics, principles of economics and business analytics. 鈥淲hen you come into my class, you鈥檒l leave having learned something that can be applied to life experiences,鈥 Arthur offered. 鈥淚 like to look into the world the way it really is. We tie that reality to theories, which helps the students interact and relate to these big ideas and the realities they鈥檝e experienced.鈥
Economics is more than imaginary math 鈥 the study is a social science of sorts, understanding the impact that cultural experiences and politics can have on how people spend and invest their money. It involves, therefore, real-life experiences, and working through some real, big issues. 鈥淚鈥檓 a big proponent of the idea, there鈥檚 no such thing as a stupid question,鈥 Arthur continued. 鈥淎nd I encourage open discussion and dialogue that contributes to learning. I invite you to challenge what I say, and we鈥檒l learn from each other鈥檚 experiences and analyze and problem-solve together.鈥
