We'll help you adjust to college

In college, you will make new friends, experience new things, and have a ton of fun. You will also work very very hard. Students arrive at º£Íâ³Ô¹Ï with different backgrounds, skill sets, and experience. We created the AIM Hei program to smooth the transition process, no matter what your academic pace or needs.

Our students say the best part of º£Íâ³Ô¹Ï is getting to know and working with professors. Mentoring is crucial in helping you learn about your academic field, yourself, and your goals. At º£Íâ³Ô¹Ï, you’ll have a faculty mentor and advisor the moment you arrive on campus, and over your four years you’ll probably add one or two more. The AIM Hei program helps you start your college experience off stronger and more efficiently. When you start off on the right foot academically, it's easier to enjoy the fun stuff too.

What is AIM Hei?

AIM Hei is a two-semester program for all incoming students to help transition to º£Íâ³Ô¹Ï – academically and socially. You'll be paired with a faculty member, your AIM Hei mentor, who will work with you to offer advice, plan your four years at º£Íâ³Ô¹Ï, help you find the right resources, and generally be your go-to person. You will meet with your mentor every-other week (HEI 101) with 15 other students where you'll participate in academic advising discussions. In the spring semester, you’ll take HEI 102 with the same students and faculty member, and you’ll plan your 4 years at º£Íâ³Ô¹Ï.
