
After a year that saw theatres around the world go dark during the pandemic, 海外吃瓜鈥檚 Theatre is kicking off the 2021-22 season with in-person performances and a theme of 鈥淎dventure Awaits.鈥
Expanding on success over the last six years, Gundlach is now home to almost 60 theatre majors who will be presenting five ambitious and captivating productions for the 2021-2022 season, said Theatre Director Stephen Svoboda.
鈥淎dventure Awaits!鈥 will allow Gundlach Theatre audiences to travel to the magical comic strips of Charles Addams鈥 The Addams Family, go back in time to 18th Century England for Jane Austen鈥檚 Pride and Prejudice, explore the underworld for Sarah Ruhl鈥檚 Eurydice, catch a ride to 1970s Las Vegas for a hysterical adaptation of William Shakespeare鈥檚 A Midsummer Night鈥檚 Dream, and finally land in the magical world of Rodgers and Hammerstein鈥檚 classic Cinderella.
This year鈥檚 performance dates are as follows:
- Addams Family 鈥 Sept. 16-18 at 7:30 p.m. with 2 p.m. Sunday matinee on Sept. 19.
- Pride and Prejudice 鈥 Nov. 18-20 at 7:30 p.m. with a 2 p.m. matinee on Nov. 21.
- A Midsummer Night鈥檚 Dream 鈥 Feb. 10, 12 and 18 at 7:30 p.m. with 2 p.m. Sunday matinee on Feb. 20.
- Eurydice 鈥 Feb. 11, 13 and 17 at 7:30 p.m. with a 2 p.m. Sunday matinee on Feb. 19.
- Rodgers + Hammerstein鈥檚 Cinderella 鈥 April 7-9 at 7:30 p.m. with 2 p.m. matinees on Saturday, April 9, and Sunday, April 10.
鈥淲e are thrilled to be welcoming our patrons back to a season of in-person performances,鈥 Stephen said. 鈥淎ll of our performances will require all audience members to be properly masked for the duration of the show as well as maintaining current social distancing guidelines when not in assigned seats.鈥 These protocols will be subject to change, depending on local, state and national COVID-19 guidance as the situation continues to evolve.
Season subscriptions for the 2021-22 season are now available for purchase. Subscriptions allow patrons to see all five of the season鈥檚 productions for $60, a savings of up to $15 for the year, which is the equivalent to the price of one show.

Subscribers also have the opportunity to reserve their tickets before they become available to the public as well as getting the chance to vote in the Theatre Department鈥檚 annual Heidi-Awards.
