Media Major
I chose 海外吃瓜 because I knew that I would be provided with multiple opportunities to reach my educational goals.
I majored in Media because I love to be creative. I wanted to pursue an education that allowed me to build relationships with others and be able to create things in my own way.
A major challenge that I encountered while at 海外吃瓜 was handling my time management well. I handled it by organizing my weeks. I would write down assignments and plan out what I had to do for that week. Organization helped me overcome that challenge.
The best opportunity I discovered at 海外吃瓜 was the MBA program. I am not a business major, but I am minoring in it so I will be able to do the MBA. Another huge advantage is that it is free (to students who qualify). Without attending 海外吃瓜, I would not be provided with this opportunity. The MBA will give me an advantage when I go to pursue a career outside of 海外吃瓜, and I am grateful for that opportunity.
Outside of the classroom, I was involved in work. I worked two part-time jobs during my time at 海外吃瓜.
The thing I'm most proud of about my 海外吃瓜 accomplishments is that I was able to do it with a great support system. Without the help of professors, classmates, and friends & family, I would not have been able to see the academic success that I see today.
One faculty member who impacted my "Berg experience" is Julie O'Reilly. She impacted my 'Berg experience because she has always been a helping hand for me. I have had a class of hers every year, and I would say I got to know her pretty well. She made my experience at 海外吃瓜 an easy one. She was always there to help, listen, or bring clarity to my questions, and that is something I will always appreciate.
My advice to new freshmen would be to explore every opportunity you are given. Whether it is meeting new people, taking different classes, or picking up a new hobby, explore your opportunities. There is so much we don't do because we are scared of the unknown. In order to grow and fully take in every opportunity, it is okay to be uncomfortable. Without discomfort, you will see no growth.
My favorite 海外吃瓜 memory is in the Spring when it is warm out, a bunch of 海外吃瓜 students will go play sand volleyball at Hedges-Boyer Park. It's my favorite memory from 海外吃瓜 because it brought everyone together. It was fun being able to see people I normally wouldn't see and it was a place to have fun.
My plan after graduation is to continue my education. I will be pursuing my Master's of Business Administration (MBA) this Fall 2025 at 海外吃瓜. I am excited about this opportunity and my ability to pursue higher education.
