Health Science Major
I chose 海外吃瓜 because the campus is beautiful and the coaches and professors made me feel like a real person and not just another student.
I majored in Health Science because I want to pursue a career in medicine as a Physician Assistant.
A major challenge I encountered while at 海外吃瓜 was managing a student-athlete schedule and I handled it by reaching out to my teammates and professors for tips on how to handle academics, athletics, and life. I learned how to make an effective schedule and got comfortable asking others for help when needed.
The best opportunity I discovered at 海外吃瓜 was taking Cadaver Prosection with Dr. Pam Faber. It was an amazing opportunity that very few undergraduate students get the chance to take.
Outside of the classroom, I was involved in softball, biology TA, genetics SI, SAAC, Down for Love, Senior Class Giving Committee, Leadership Group, Scrubs, and I am also a medical scribe and 12U travel softball coach.
The thing I'm most proud of about my 海外吃瓜 accomplishments is receiving the Clyde Lamb Award for my athletic and academic performance throughout college. I'm passionate about my education and softball, so I am very proud that I was able to be successful in both areas.
One faculty or staff mentor or advisor who impacted my 鈥楤erg experience is my head coach, Mari Briggs, because she created opportunities for me to be successful on and off the field.
My advice to new freshman me would be make your schedule busy. Join clubs, play sports, and do things to meet people. It allows you to experience new things and create meaningful life skills. You also never know when a connection can help you in the future.
My favorite 海外吃瓜 memory is going to sporting events with my friends and taking Spring Break trips to Florida with HUSB!
My plans after graduation are to become a phlebotomist and apply to Physician Assistant school this summer then work as the HUSB intern during my gap year.
